PHU YEN (VNS) — The Ky Lo River Bridge in La Hai Town in Phu Yen Province's Dong Xuan District opened yesterday, allowing travel between the mountainous and delta areas in the rainy season.
The project was launched in the central province in July 2014 with a total investment of VND104 billion (US$4.7 million) from the state budget.
The concrete bridge is more than 1km-long, comprising a 12m-wide bridge and 15m-wide roads leading to it at either ends.
The new bridge replaces the La Hai Bridge, which was seriously damaged and used to be flooded on rainy days, causing traffic jams.
Le Van Truc, vice-president of Phu Yen People's Committee, said the new bridge would allow transport of goods and safe travel by local people.
The project, along with other bridges on National Highway 19C, allows clear movement of traffic, connecting the mountainous area with the delta regions in Phu Yen Province as well as the central and western highlands provinces. — VNS
