HA NOI (VNS) — A project worth more than VND10.3 billion (US$463,100) aiming to reduce water losses in Ha Noi will be implemented by Ha Noi Water Limited Company (Hawaco) between 2016 and 2018.
The project, with non-refundable assistance of nearly VND9billion ($404.500) from Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA), is expected to apply advanced technology to avoid leakage in Ha Noi's water supply systems.
Training courses will be held to equip workers with practical skills to reduce loss of water and revenue, contribute to increasing business effectiveness, and ensure water services for the city's customers. These workers are expected to instruct others after the training.
JICA will send Japanese experts to Ha Noi and provide technology to search for water leakage as well as training materials.
Viet Nam invested another VND1.6 billion ($71,900) on necessary training equipment, working rooms and repairing broken water clocks.
The municipal People's Committee has asked Hawaco to verify the quality of equipment and machines received from relevant agencies within the project as well as implement the project effectively, following governmental and municipal regulations. — VNS
