HCM CITY (VNS) — A volunteer campaign to support disadvantaged people on the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) festival officially kicked off in HCM City yesterday.

With the participation of more than 31,000 students from universities and colleges in the city, the event will run until February 6.

It includes activities to assist needy students, patients and street children, and gifts for social policy beneficiaries and soldiers and officers who are working in border and island areas.

Voluntary blood donations, cultural exchanges and art performances in hospitals and social centres will be held as part of the campaign. — VNS
