HCM CITY (VNS) — Thousands of people in HCM City participated in "Red Sunday," a voluntary blood donation progamme, held in the southern city yesterday.
Some 1,000 blood units were collected in the morning.
After HCM City, the programme will travel to other provinces and cities across the country.
"Red Sunday" was first held in 2009. Taking place nationwide on the New Year occasion, the programme has received a warm response from the public, especially young people.
The initiative was co-organised by the Tien Phong ( Vanguard) Newspaper, HCM City Voluntary Blood Donation Centre, Cho Ray Hospital and Van Hien University. — VNS
