HCM CITY (VNS) — A team of students from Hoa Lu Primary School in the central city of Da Nang won one of two prizes on offer in the apprentice category and the Book Square Club from Ha Noi won in the veterans' category at the Digital Youth Award-International Robotics Competition held in HCM City on Sunday. The annual competition was themed this year as EcoWatch, with the aim to devise forest-protection methods. Contestants had to make a robot from Lego pieces and programme it to perform various tasks such as setting up a "forest IT tower", collecting land data, analysing it and transplanting seedlings at a seed centre.

The competition, organised by the city's Department of Education and Training together with DTT-Eduspec and other agencies, attracted 122 teams from Viet Nam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. — VNS
