HCM CITY (VNS)— Nearly 500 primary students are taking part in the BASF Kids Lab, an interactive chemistry education programme that opened yesterday in HCM City.

During the two-day event, students from the city's outlying districts of Cu Chi, Hoc Mon and District 12 are learning about skin protection against ultraviolet radiation and how vitamins can improve human health.

The programme, which is held in more than 30 countries, is designed to help children learn about the fascinating world of chemistry and its important role as an enabler for a sustainable future.

Since 2011, more than 2,000 local school children in Viet Nam have taken part in extracurricular activities organised by the city's Department of Education and Training and the chemical company BASF. — VNS
