Two drug traffickers arrested in Lai Chau

LAI CHAU (VNS) — Police in northern mountainous Lai Chau Province have busted drug traffickers, arresting two people and seizing nearly 700 grammes of heroin.

Head of the provincial Police Department of Investigation of Drug-related Crimes Vu Xuan Viet said that the police caught these two suspects at Sin Ho district's Ta Van Village, which borders Dien Bien Province's Tua Chua District and is known as a hot spot of drug trafficking.

Giang Thi Be, 42, and Giang A Che, 49, both in Tua Chua District's Sinh Phinh Commune, were arrested while illegally transporting 350 grammes and 340 grammes of heroin respectively.

The case is under investigation. — VNS
