Two seriously injured in accidents in HCM City

HCM CITY (VNS) — Three accidents occurred this morning at HCM City's 3/2-Le Hong Phong Intersection, leaving two seriously injured and blocking traffic for hours.

The first accident occurred at about 6.15am when a 16-seat bus arriving at the intersection from Le Hong Phong Road was hit by a motorbike running a red light in the opposite direction.

The motorbike's 20-year-old male driver was thrown five metres and sustained severe head injuries. The motorbike was badly damaged.

While traffic police were at the scene, a second accident occurred. A motorbike driven by a middle-aged woman, entering the intersection from Le Hong Phong Road, crashed into a seven-seat car entering from 3/2 Road. The woman was seriously injured.

The last accident was a collision between a 45-seat passenger bus and a five-seat car. No injuries were reported.

Traffic was blocked for hours due to the three accidents, which occurred in a short span of time this morning.

The six vehicles involved in the three accidents remained in the middle of the intersection, blocking traffic for hours. By 9am, traffic police managed to restore the flow of traffic. — VNS
