CA MAU (VNS) — The southernmost Ca Mau Province's marine police has seized three foreign vessels that were illegally fishing in Vietnamese waters, inspectors of the provincial agriculture and rural development department said.
The vessels, which were catching black butterfish, were seized on Tuesday off Ca Mau Province by the marine police and the department of exploitation and fisheries resource protection.
After verification, the inspectors said the vessels were from Thailand
The police has submitted a report and temporarily seized the vessels to deal with the case.
Recently, the agriculture department received reports from fishermen that dozens of foreign vessels were illegally fishing every day in Vietnamese waters.
The department has notified the marine police to take preventive measures. — VNS
