HA NOI (VNS) — Authorities will tighten the management of multi-level marketing activities to effectively control the operations of related business organisations.

This move followed an official document issued by Government Office, showing opinions of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc about handling violations in multi-level marketing activities.

Phuc has instructed the Ministry of Industry and Trade to co-operate with other ministries related sectors and localities, to monitor and examine the operations of multi-level marketing organisations.

The Ministry of Public Security has been instructed to direct related agencies to control the business situation, conduct basic investigations while checking the misuse by organisations of multi-level marketing activities and imposing strict punishment on violators according to the law.

The media recently has extensively reflected the misuse of multi-level marketing for fraudulent appropriation of the property of businessmen, resulting in complaints from the public, and seriously affecting the security in many localities.

These activities by the authorities have helped prevent, detect early and strictly deal with those who violate the provisions of the Government's Decree No/42/2014/ND-CP dated May 14, 2014 on the management of multi-level marketing activities. — VNS
