DONG NAI (VNS) — Over 3,500 cases of dengue fever, including three deaths, have been reported in the southern province of Dong Nai since early this year.

According to the director of the provincial Department of Health, Cao Trong Nguong, dengue had been reported in all 11 districts in the locality, with the largest number of dengue infections in Bien Hoa City.

About 300 new cases are being reported each week in the province, overloading local hospitals.

The provincial health sector has asked relevant agencies and offices to prevent the disease from spreading by raising public awareness and spraying mosquito repellent in high-risk areas. — VNS
