HCM CITY (VNS) — HCM City Police 113, a rapid response force, arrested four people involved in a violent gang clash, though six suspects escaped.

The incident occurred at midnight yesterday.

A four-member police unit patrolling Nguyen Trai Street discovered 10 members from two youth gangs fighting at Nguyen Bieu Intersections of Nguyen Trai Street.

Police arrested four people and confiscated five hand-made spears of one-metre length, as well as a four-passenger car.

Additionally, authorities reported that the four detainees crashed their car into the special police vehicles to escape, but failed.

The other gang members escaped when the police arrived.

An eyewitness said a fist-fight began at Phan Van Ti-Nguyen Bieu intersections.

Following the initial brawl, the losing gang called other members to join the fight.

Later, a second car brought new gang members, along with spears, to join the fight at Nguyen Bieu intersections.

Officials said the fight attracted the attention of hundreds of bystanders.

An investigation is continuing, said officials. — VNS
