BINH PHUOC – A third person suspected to be involved in the murder of a family of six members in Binh Phuoc Province has been arrested, the local police said this morning.
Details of the suspect were not released, except that he did not "directly commit the crime," Binh Phuoc Police Director Tran Thang Phuc said
The suspect was a man known as Tran Van Thoai, who was being investigated for robbery.
Thoai reportedly had agreed to join Nguyen Hai Duong, the main murder suspect, in robbing the house of Le Van My.
After their first attempt failed, Thoai decided to quit.
Duong later asked another person, Vu Van Tien, to help him rob and murder the whole family of My early on July 7.
The two men were arrested three days after the murders.
Duong reportedly said he wanted to take revenge on his girlfriend Le Thi Anh Linh, who was My's daughter, and her family as she had broken up with him earlier. — VNS
