Work starts on kinder on Ly Son island

QUANG NGAI (VNS) — Work started on the construction of a kindergarten on Ly Son Island in the central province of Quang Ngai on Saturday.

The project, including a two-storey building with four classrooms, will cost VND5.3 billion (US$243,000).

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) has donated VND2 billion ($91,700) to the project via a programme themed "Nghia tinh Hoang Sa, Truong Sa" (Love for Hoang Sa, Truong Sa archipelagos). The remaining funds include VND2.2 billion ($100,500 ) from the provincial People's Committee and donations from lecturers at Ton Duc Thang University in HCM City.

Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony, VGCL President Dang Ngoc Tung said the project aimed to offer children on Ly Son better childcare facilities. — VNS
