QUẢNG NINH (VNS) — The Quảng Ninh Department of Customs has seized smuggled goods worth VND138 million (US$6,300) in four different cases in the last two days.

Yesterday, the department detected and seized smuggled goods in three cases in Mong Cai City in the northern Quảng Ninh Province.

The goods, estimated to be worth VND50 million (US$2,300) and comprising 950 women's scarves, 200 mobile phone holders and 100 umbrellas, were all new and made in China.

On Tuesday, 870 tablets contained foreign-branded pharmaceutical products were found in an empty land plot opposite of Hoa Binh Square, in Mong Cai City's Tran Phu Ward.

The products were estimated to be worth VND88 million (US$4,000), the department said.
