VIENTIANE (VNS) — Viet Nam and Laos will expand their collaboration in developing museums, as stipulated in an agreement signed in Vientiane last Saturday between Ho Chi Minh Museum and Kaysone Phomvihane Museum.
Accordingly, the two sides will work together to organise scientific workshops on Lao sites containing revolutionary relics in Viet Nam and President Ho Chi Minh relic sites in Laos, collect documents and items related to Prince Suphanuvong, and exchange research materials about President Ho Chi Minh and President Kaysone Phomvihane.
The collaboration also covers exhibitions to be displayed at the commemorative house of Lao students in northern Bac Giang Province, as well as a proposal on the preservation of relic sites related to Kaysone Phomvihane in Viet Nam.
Further, the two sides will focus on scientific research and gathering documents for specific stages of historical events, and providing younger generations with a deeper understanding of their leaders' contributions to the country, according to Souvandy Sisavath, who is responsible for the Kaysone Phomvihane Museum, as told to a Vietnam News Agency reporter.
Under the collaboration framework from 2014-2015, the two museums completed repairs of the Kaysone Phomvihane Museum and construction of a commemorative site for President Ho Chi Minh in Sanavakhet province, while conducting studies on sites containing items from the revolution in both countries. — VNS
