HA NOI (VNS) — Viet Nam was determined to fight human trafficking, deputy spokesperson at the Foreign Ministry, Pham Thu Hang, said yesterday in response to reporters' questions on a global report issued by the US Department of State.

Hang said some of the information in the report did not reflect Viet Nam's enormous efforts to prevent human trafficking in recent years.

She stressed the Vietnamese Government had taken concrete measures to prevent human trafficking, including promulgating a law on preventing human trafficking and setting up a national action programme.

These efforts had been recognised by many organisations and countries around the world, including the US, she noted. — VNS
