DA NANG (VNS) — Three people were killed and two children were injured, when their bikes were hit by a van coming from the opposite side on Thuan Phuoc Bridge on Monday evening.

The central city's traffic police said the van -- with plate number 43X 2047 and being driven by Dinh The Hiep, 38 -- was travelling from Son Tra peninsula to the city's downtown area, when it hit two bikes (plate numbers 43K5 2498 and 43E1 07719), killing Dinh Cong Trang, 57, and pushing 54-year-old Trinh Thi Thai and 34-year-old Le Thi Van Khanh off the bridge from a height of 10m. They were also killed.

Khanh's children were critically injured. They are been treated in the emergency ward of Da Nang's General Hospital.

It's the worst accident in the city since early this year.
