HA NOI (VNS) — The Transport Ministry (MoT) has announced there would be no contests held to choose the heads of some organs and units under the MoT.

There will be no contest for recruitment to posts such as director of the Vietnam Aviation Academy, administrator of the Vietnam Maritime Administration, head of the Environment Department, and head of the International Co-operation Department, as well as representatives of state-owned capital in a maritime corporation, who are competing to become chairman of the management board.

The announcement was made after Transport Minister Dinh La Thang signed a notice No 514/TB-BGTVT, following the conclusion of a politburo meeting on a MoT project, entitled "The experimentation of reform on the recruitment of management officials in departments, offices and units under the MoT."

Last month, the MoT held an exam for four candidates to select the head of the Viet Nam Road Administration. The selected candidate, Nguyen Van Huyen, will take office in June.
