HA NOI (VNS) — For the first time, an intensive and practical training on start-ups and innovations has been organised for experts who will scale up innovative thinking and education in Viet Nam.

The eight-month training programme conducted by Innovation Partnership Program (IPP) aims to provide essential knowledge and skills to professionals who will be engaged in innovation work – the process of developing new products or services that can address the needs of potential customers.

Under four international trainers from Europe and the United States, the training will also impart core knowledge and skills to Vietnamese citizens who will not only be able to facilitate successful innovation projects but will also be able to train others in successfully pursuing innovation work.

In addition, there will also be regular experience-sharing sessions with visiting international and local guest speakers, who are also successful businessmen, angel or venture capitalists, or innovation-based lean start-up consultants.

Ten highly qualified people from the private sector, academic institutions, and business incubators have been selected for the training conducted in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City.

IPP, an Official Development Assistance (ODA) programme financed jointly by the Governments of Vietnam and Finland, is in its second phase, running through 2014-18. IPP will support the innovation projects of companies that are developing products and services that are new to the Vietnamese market and have the potential to be exported to international markets. — VNS
