Thousands of workers join ILO run

BINH DUONG (VNS) — About 4,500 workers in the textile, footwear and garment field in the southern region took part in the annual Better Work Viet Nam one-and-a half and two-kilometre runs on yesterday in Binh Duong Province.

The run, one for women and another for men, was organised by the International Labour Organisation and International Finance Corporation.

The run is part of the Better Work Viet Nam programme, which aims to improve workplace conditions.

More than 350 factories in the textile, footwear and garment field participate in the Better Work Viet Nam programme. They employ a total of 430,000 workers, of whom 80 per cent are female. — VNS
