HCM CITY (VNS) — Police from the public security ministry remanded two leaders of VN Pharma in custody on alleged smuggling charges.

The two company leaders are Nguyen Tri Nhat, deputy general director of the firm, and deputy head of the company's export office Phan Cam Loan.

VN Pharma is an HCM City–based pharmaceutical joint stock company.

Late in September 2014, the police had also arrested the company's Chairman and General Director Nguyen Minh Hung and a representative of the HCM City branch of a foreign drug company Vo Manh Cuong for alleged smuggling.

According to the police, Hung and Cuong allegedly created fake documents to import 9,300 batches of H-Capita, worth US$750,000, into Viet Nam in April 2014.
