HA NOI (VNS) — The Vietnam News Agency introduced five new services to the public yesterday.
The new products are online news graphics, audio news and integrated news and photo services that are available on the agency's website vnanet.vn and the bi-monthly Viet Nam and World Economics magazine, as well as the new bilingual editions of the Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Region Pictorial magazine, including in Vietnamese-Tay, Vietnamese-Xe Dang and Vietnamese-Co Tu.
The online news graphics service, launched as a pilot on September 15 last year, covers both domestic and world news in a wide range of fields such as politics, economics, culture and sports, as well as disasters and accidents and consumer prices.
The audio news service was tested in late 2014, offering 40 minutes of current affairs and 20 minutes of music at 8pm every day.
After the pilot, the service will increase the number and the duration of news broadcasts.
Meanwhile, the integrated news and photo service offers several photographs linked to each story.
The bi-monthly Viet Nam and World Economics magazine has taken off from the weekly Viet Nam and World Economics bulletin that has been published for 15 years, with nearly 1,000 issues.
With three new editions, the Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Region Pictorial magazine now has 11 bilingual editions in Vietnamese and ethnic languages, comprising Mong, Khmer, Cham and K'Ho, as well as M'Nong, Ede, Jrai and Bahnar, besides Tay, Co Tu and Xe Dang.
The publications reach out to the ethnic groups in mountainous areas across nearly 50 provinces.
As a media organisation with more than 1,000 reporters and editors producing nearly 60 domestic and international products, the Vietnam News Agency produces the largest number of publications in the largest number of forms and languages in the nation currently.
