CAO BANG (VNS) — A one-day training workshop on medical waste management started yesterday in the northern province of Cao Bang as part of Project VIE/027 supporting health care policy for the poor in Cao Bang Province, under Viet Nam – Luxembourg Co-operation.

Another training workshop will kick off today in the northern province of Bac Kan.

The US$8 million project seeks to assist the provincial authorities to replace incineration of medical waste practices with green methods using autoclaving methods and waste recycling.

The Project VIE/ 027 co-operates with Health Ministry's Viet Nam Environment Health Management (VIHEMA) to develop a plan to strengthen capability of health staff in six district hospitals and 102 commune health centres. — VNS
