HA NOI (VNS) — The VTV fund for cancer patients and CVI Pharmaceutical Company donated 400 gifts to patients at the Tan Trieu National Cancer Hospital in Ha Noi yesterday.
The gifts, each worth VND600,000- 900,000 (US$30-45), included cancer handbooks, medicine and confectionery.
The hospital currently has around 3,000 patients, of which around 400 serious patients have to stay at the hospital during Tet for treatment.
Viet Nam reports 200,000 new cancer cases yearly, 80 per cent of which were discovered in the late stages, according to the National Cancer Prevention Programme. — VNS
