DA NANG (VNS) — The Trung Nam Group installed the final span to complete the second flyover at the three-level stack interchange at Hue–Da Nang in Da Nang City yesterday.

The ceremony held for the final span installation, attended by Vice Transport Minister Le Dinh Tho, marked the completion of 92 per cent of the project work.

Started on September 28, 2013, the 16-month long work on the flyover has involved more than 1,000 workers, working three shifts per day continuously, said Nguyen Tam Tien, chief executive officer of the group that is building the flyover.

Tien added that work on the bridge, considered to be an additional landmark that highlights the city's urban landscape, will continue during the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday, so that it can be opened as scheduled on March 29, the 40th anniversary of the liberation of the city (March 29, 1975).

The opening of the flyover will help ease traffic congestion at this grade-separated junction, which has been branded as an accident blackspot, said Tien. — VNS
