CAO BANG (VNS) – The Cao Bang Province Police Drug Crime Investigation Unit in conjunction with the local Custom Control Unit caught a man yesterday morning transporting 156 heroin bars from Ha Noi to Cao Bang.

After detecting a suspect car, the authorities signaled the driver to stop but he did not comply and continued speeding up. When he got to the new De Tham Urban Area in Cao Bang City, he left the car and ran up a hill nearby. He was then seized.

Examination on the scene found 156 bars of white powder contained in three blue jute bags.

The suspect is Trieu Duc Hanh, born in 1969 and a resident of Bang Van Commune in Cao Bang Province's Ngan Son District. He allegedly told the police that he was carrying the heroin to Cao Bang to sell it.
