Thieves held with stolen aviation fuel

HCM CITY (VNS) — The police yesterday seized 20 jerry cans containing 600 litres of stolen aviation fuel at a warehouse in Phu My Commune in HCM City's District 7.

The police caught Suu, a 39-year-old resident of HCM City's District 7, and his driver Dung when they were using a truck to deliver the fuel to customers.

The police also seized another truck and two motorbikes that were approaching the warehouse to receive the stolen fuel.

In another case yesterday, the police caught several persons when they were stealing fuel from a tanker truck in Tan Binh District's Commune 2.

According to the police, the aviation fuel, said to belong to Jetstar Pacific, was stolen while it was being transported to the airport. The alleged thieves planned to store the fuel in the warehouse before selling it in the market.

The police are holding the alleged thieves and distributors in custody and are investigating the case. — VNS
