Healthcare offered to Phnom Penh's poor

PHNOM PENH (VNS) — The Association of Vietnamese in Cambodia, the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (COVA)'s HCM City branch and Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine on Saturday provided free medical checkups and goods for 500 poor Vietnamese and Cambodian people living in Phnom Penh.

The annual event is provided by HCM City authorities aiming to help low-income Cambodian and overseas Vietnamese people enjoy the upcoming Tet holiday.

Vice Mayor of Phnom Penh Chbar Ampov Tek Chani said the programme was kind-hearted, and could be considered a symbol of the friendship between the two countries. — VNS
