Update: January, 20/2015 - 08:07

QUANG NGAI (VNS) — Fishermen in Quang Ngai Province saved 10 sailors from vessel Xuan Lan yesterday when it was submerged by the rough wind and strong waves in the sea area of Sa Ky, Quang Ngai Province.

The vessel, which belonged to Nam Dinh-based Xuan Lan Company Ltd and was captained by 40-year-old Nguyen Van Duong, was carrying 3,000 tons of clinker from Hon La Port in Quang Binh Province to Vung Ro in Phu Yen Province.

It started sinking around midnight on Sunday in a location roughly 1.2 nautical miles west of shore. The sailors got into lifeboats and were saved by the fishermen.

Their health condition remains stable. — VNS
