Australia consulate awards DAP grants

HCM CITY (VNS) — The Australian Consulate General in HCM City yesterday awarded Direct Aid Programme (DAP) grants worth AU$260,000 (US$209,926) to 14 projects in the 2014-15 period in a range of sectors, including healthcare, education and small-scale infrastructure, in central and southern Viet Nam.

DAP is a unique small-scale community-based grants programme funded by the Australian government and disbursed by the Australian Consulate General that aims to address humanitarian hardships through funding small-scale development projects.

The funding is part of Australia's total non-refundable aid programme worth AU$141.3 million (S$114.1 million) to Viet Nam for 2014-15. — VNS
