Man arrested for storing firecrackers

HA TINH (VNS) – Police in the central province of Ha Tinh arrested a man for illegally storing 100kg of firecrackers.

Le Anh Dung, 41, in the province's Huong Son District, told police that he bought the firecrackers from Laos and then transported them into Viet Nam through the Cha Lo border gate in the central province of Quang Binh. The firecrackers were made in China.

Manufacturing, trading, transporting and using firecrackers has been banned in Viet Nam for many years. Under current regulations, those found illegally storing, trading or transporting firecrackers weighing between 50 and 150kg will be sentenced to 3 to 10 years in prison. — VNS
