TAY NINH (VNS)  — The friendship bridge which links Viet Nam and Cambodia is expected to be put in use by the end of this month.

Construction on the bridge linking Viet Nam's Tay Ninh province and Cambodia's Prey Veng province spanning upstream Vam Co Dong River began in April, according to the Tay Ninh province's Department of Transport.

The US$2.2-million bridge, called Tan Nam – Mon Chey Bridge, is 77.28 metres long and eight metres wide.

The 1.5 kilometre approach road to the bridge is expected to facilitate trade between Viet Nam and Cambodia. The bridge will also enhance cultural exchange as well as security in border areas. — VNS
