HA NOI (VNS) — The co-operation between local and international crime prevention units is essential for combating transnational crimes, especially with the ASEAN Community being established in 2015.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Xuan Yem, Director of the People's Police Academy, said this at a conference held in Ha Noi today.

The conference was jointly organised by the People's Police Academy of Viet Nam and the Royal Police Cadet Academy of Thailand to share the experiences of the two countries in combating transnational crimes, in the context of the establishment of the ASEAN Community.

The two police academies agreed to collaborate more in the future to enhance the capabilities of law enforcement agencies.
