Worker suffocates in Quang Ninh mine

QUANG NINH (VNS) — A worker is reported to have died yesterday from suffocation at a coal mine in the northern province of Quang Ninh.

Nguyen Van Tao, 29, from northern Hung Yen province, was working at a mine run by the Thong Nhat Coal Company with other miners.

He then went into an abandoned mine to dig coal, but did not emerge after about 15-20 minutes. He was later found dead by other workers. An initial investigation said he died from suffocation. — VNS
