HA NOI (VNS) — Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien yesterday inspected efforts to prevent the deadly Ebola virus from entering the country at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, which sees the largest number of passengers travelling between Africa and Viet Nam.
A simulation was staged during which quarantine staff detected a passenger with fever, with the goal of helping relevant agencies review their performance and prepare for outbreaks. If any Ebola patients were detected, HCM City would have to swiftly draw up plans for mobile hospitals, Tien said.
So far, 33 people, including one from an Ebola-affected country, have declared their state of health at Tan Son Nhat airport. None showed symptoms of the disease. — VNS
