VN students excel at Int'l Physics Olympiad

The gold medalists were 12th grader Cao Ngoc Thai from the central province of Nghe An and two students from Ha Noi: 12th grader Do Thi Bich Hue and 11th grader Vu Thanh Trung Nam.

HA NOI (VNS) — All five members of the Vietnamese team scooped up medals, including three golds, in a successful showing at the 2014 International Physics Olympiad (IPhO 2014) in Kazakhstan, reported the Ministry of Education and Training.

The gold medalists were 12th grader Cao Ngoc Thai from the central province of Nghe An and two students from Ha Noi: 12th grader Do Thi Bich Hue and 11th grader Vu Thanh Trung Nam.

The performance put Viet Nam among the top ten countries competing at the event, which saw 383 contestants from 84 countries and territories compete.

Meanwhile, an impressive performance saw all four Vietnamese students attending the 2014 International Olympiad in Informatics in Taiwan bring home two silver and two bronze medals. — VNS
