Another victim of chopper crash dies

HA NOI (VNS) — Another victim of the military helicopter crash that occurred earlier this month died on Saturday, raising the incident's death toll to 19.

According to Director of the Military Medical Academy Nguyen Tien Binh, Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Van Tuan from the Ha Noi Capital High Command died on Saturday morning after suffering serious burns and injuries in the crash.

The MI-171 helicopter with 21 military personnel on board lost contact and came down only 16 minutes after it took off from Hoa Lac Airport in the west of Hanoi for a parachute training exercise on July 7.

The other two survivors are receiving intensive treatment at the National Institute of Burns in Ha Noi. — VNS
