CAN THO (VNS) — The Mekong Delta city of Can Tho, will invest VND60 billion (US$2.82 million) to build more kindergartens and primary schools in Ninh Kieu and Binh Thuy districts.
These schools will be ready by the end of the year and help ease the overload situation in the localities.
Currently, Ninh Kieu has only six kindergartens and 22 primary schools, while Binh Thuy has three and 14, respectively, the city's Department of Education and Training reported.
The building of schools is part of a project to upgrade urban infrastructure for the city which uses capital sourced by the World Bank's International Development Association (IDA).
Under the project, construction is underway in three primary schools which will be ready to welcome students by August. — VNS
