HA NOI (VNS) — A VietJet Air flight from HCM City to Bangkok failed to take off on time yesterday due to a commotion caused by a passenger.

According to VNExpress e-newspaper, a 28-year-old Vietnamese woman started arguing with airline staff after being told that she had excess baggage and had placed her baggage in an unauthorised place.

The newspaper reported that the woman refused to co-operate and behaved impolitely onboard, causing a commotion. As a result, the chief pilot decided to delay the flight and had her taken to the Southern Airport Authority.

VNExpress quoted a Vietjet Air representative as saying that the chief pilot's decision was intended to ensure the flight's safety and was conducted with the consent of other passengers.

The representative said the flight was delayed one hour because of the incident. — VNS
