Five killed in Hanoi karaoke blaze

HA NOI (VNS) — At least five people have died in a fire that broke out at a four-storey karaoke bar in Giang Vo street, Ha Noi, on  May 3.

Major General Nguyen Duc Chung, Director of the Hanoi Police, confirmed that two women and two children were among the victims, along with the establishment's owner.

The fire was said to have started on the first floor at midday, gutting the entire bar, before quickly spreading and engulfing the upper floors.

Four fire trucks were deployed to the scene and it took firefighters nearly two hours to put out the flames.

The karaoke bar has been cordoned off while an investigation takes place.— VNA
