Smuggled food for Tet seized in Ha Noi

HA NOI (VNS)— Up to 50 tonnes of food without legal proof of origin were discovered in Ha Noi's Gia Lam District yesterday, the city's Market Watch officials announced.

The products mainly include foodstuff being prepared for the upcoming Tet (Lunar New Year) festival, such as confectionery and salted dry apricot.

The on-going investigation seeks to determine the owner of the products.

Ha Noi Market Watch officials, on the same day, seized nearly one ton of oyster sauce without legal proof of origin at 229 and 231 Hong Ha Street of Hoan Kiem District.—VNS
