Dong Nai Hospital to launch air ambulance

DONG NAI (VNS) — The Government has given permission for Dong Nai Hospital to provide air ambulance helicopter service beginning in 2015, according to hospital director Pham Huy Anh Vu.

Ambulance helicopters would be provided to transport emergency cases to the hospital or other local and international medical centers, depending upon patient requirements.

A helicopter landing pad will be built on the hospital rooftop. The hospital also signed contracts with service providers and civil airports nationwide.

Dong Nai Hospital, located in the southern province of the same name, is the nation's first regional medical complex, having a total investment of VND3.2 trillion (US$153.8 million), and is due to open in 2015. — VNS
