No Vietnamese killed in bomb attack in Yemen

HA NOI (VNS) — Agencies in Yemen have confirmed that no Vietnamese were killed in an attack on the Yemeni Defence Ministry Complex on December 5, according to the Vietnamese Embassy in Saudi Arabia. 

The embassy response came last Saturday, following reports that two Vietnamese doctors had died in the terrorist attack.

The director of the Yemeni Defence Ministry hospital, the site of the attack, also reported to Yemeni authorities that no Vietnamese doctors or staff are employed at the hospital.

Meanwhile, the Vietnamese Embassy in Saudi Arab is working with Yemeni agencies to keep a close watch on developments.

The December 5 bomb attack on the defence ministry and hospital in Sanaa killed at least 52 people, including several foreign doctors, and injured 167 others.

Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula has claimed responsibility for the attack. — VNS
