HA NOI (VNS) — A Vietnamese delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Quoc Doanh, attended the Conference on Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Security and Climate Change (AFC) in Johannesburg.
The event, which took place December 3-5, was organised by the Governments of South Africa and the Netherlands, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations and the World Bank. At the conference, delegates sought to learn methods to raise farm productivity and reduce carbon-dioxide emissions, based on the application of state-of-the-art cultivating technologies in order to cope with climate change.
The first AFC was held in the Hague, Netherlands, in October 2010, while the second was hosted in Ha Noi in September 2012. — VNS
