BINH PHUOC (VNS) — Local police discovered the bodies of six motorboat passengers yesterday in southern Binh Phuoc Province.

The boat was carrying 40 workers along the Mang River on Wednesday night when it overturned.

The police are still seeking one of the workers.

The accident occurred when the boat was about 50 metres from the riverbank, allowing 33 workers to survive by swimming to land.

The accident was allegedly caused by the deteriorated condition of the boat and the river's raging torrent. The case is under investigation.

In the meantime, rescue teams, after conducting a four-hour search, successfully saved all seven fishermen who fell into the sea off central Quang Ngai Province yesterday morning.

The accident occurred when a cargo vessel from northern Hai Phong City crashed into their fishing boat from the central Binh Dinh Province.

The provincial port authorities required the cargo vessel to anchor at Dung Quat seaport pending further investigation. — VNS
