HA NOI (VNS)— Ha Noi police on Friday began a 20-day round of checking residential record books across the city in a bid to clarify the number of permanent and temporary residents, as well as foreigners.

Local authorities will visit each household and ask residents to present their residential record books, identity cards or certificates of temporary residence for inspection.

The findings will be added to a national database on population management deployed by the Ministry of Public Security, which will be piloted in the city. — VNS
