BEN TRE (VNS) — Five rice vermicelli establishments in the Mekong Delta's Ben Tre Province were fined a total of VND92.5 million (US$4,347) for producing vermicelli containing Tinopal, a banned chemical.

The news was announced by Vo Hong Khanh, inspector general of the provincial Health Department on Tuesday.

Violating establishments admitted buying vermicelli mainly from the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap. — VNS
