HCM CITY (VNS) — The US Consulate in HCM City will host the fourth in a series of conferences of the US Viet Nam Aviation Cooperation Working Group (ACWG) on Wednesday.

The one-day event is to be hosted in co-operation with the Civil Aviation Administration of Viet Nam, the Aviation Corporation of Viet Nam and Vietnam Airlines.

The conference will focus on best practices in airport operations, including maximising airport traffic management to increase capacity, public private partnership opportunities in Viet Nam's aviation sector, and aircraft certification.

US government experts from the Federal Aviation Administration will share their expertise on how to implement state-of-the art airport safety programmes using the most advanced technologies and techniques.

Viet Nam's Ministry of Planning and Investment will brief conference participants on airport investment opportunities.

Private sector contributors will include speakers from the Boeing Company, who will discuss present and future trends in air traffic management, while the Maryland-based Aeronautical Radio, Incorporated (ARINC) and the Massachusettes-based MITRE Corporation will discuss best practices for airport operations and airport site selection respectively.

Vietnam Airlines officials will also present and speak about the company's future business plans.

The goal of the ACWG is to apply American expertise, technology and best practices to support and enhance growth in Viet Nam's civil aviation sector, says a press release from the US Consulate. — VNS.
