NINH THUAN (VNS) — The Ministry of Transport commenced work on a project to expand a stretch of National Highway 1A in central Ninh Thuan Province on Tuesday.
Over VND968 billion (US$46 million) will be spent to expand the 17-km stretch of road, which passes through Thuan Nam District. The new highway will have six lanes and a speed limit of 80km/h.
The project, scheduled to be completed in late 2015, aims to reduce traffic accidents and help promote economic growth in the province, according to Deputy Minister Nguyen Hong Truong. — VNS
